Hepta is a calm, ad-free merge puzzle that’s easy to learn and hard to master. You merge two pieces that share the same color and shape; they combine into the next shape up, evolving through seven shapes from a circle to a heptagon. Build the target piece to clear each level. This guide covers every feature, step by step, with screenshots.

2

Follow the tutorial

Launch the app and follow the quick, interactive How to Play tutorial — one tap at a time. Tutorial levels are always free and cost no hearts.

Build the target

Keep merging to build the target piece shown at the top — that clears the level.

How to play

A Hepta level in play with the board grid, target piece at the top, and colored pieces
The loop is simple: find two pieces matching in both color and shape, drag one onto the other to evolve up a shape, and repeat toward the target piece at the top. Build the target to clear the level.

The seven shapes

Pieces evolve through seven shapes in order (“Hepta” means seven):

Merging, direction & scoring

Merging is where the depth lives:
  • Direction matters. When two pieces merge, the tile you drop ONTO keeps its score. Dragging A onto B isn’t the same as B onto A — decide which tile to keep before you merge.
  • The ripple. Each merge ripples to the 4 neighboring tiles (up, down, left, right), scoring points on them. One well-placed merge can score across several tiles.
  • Stones. Stones are obstacles with no special button — break a stone by merging on a tile next to it, and the ripple cracks it.
  • Stars. Solving in fewer moves earns more stars (1–3). Your best move count per level is saved so you can come back and beat it.
To protect a tile’s points, make it the one you drop onto, not the one you drag away.

Levels, stars & the map

The Hepta level map showing 150 levels along a winding path with their states and stars
Hepta has 150 hand-crafted levels on a winding map. Level 1 is open from the start; clear a level to unlock the next. Each level shows its state — Locked, Current, Open, or Cleared (with stars earned). Every level rewards 1–3 stars based on how few moves you use, and all 150 are verified solvable.
Three stars are about solving smart, not fast. There’s no timer — take your time and plan each move.
When you’re stuck, tap the Hint button to highlight the next good move. Use it as often as you like.

Hearts (your play energy)

Hearts pace your play and are designed to stay out of the way:
  • You lose a heart only when you fail a level — never when you win.
  • Tutorial levels never cost a heart.
  • Hearts refill over time in the background while you’re away — nothing to claim.
  • Out of hearts? Wait a short while for them to refill, or get an optional Unlimited play pass to lift the limit for a while.
